Google Maps now available for iPhone 5

Google Inc's mobile navigation application Google Maps will now be available in Apple Inc's app store, the Internet search giant said on its official blog.

The Google Maps app will be compatible with any iPhone or iPod Touch that runs iOS 5.1 or higher, the company said in a blog post. ()

Apple launched its own mapping service, and dropped Google's, in early September when it launched the iPhone 5 and rolled out the highly anticipated update to its mobile software platform iOS 6.

But users complained that Apple's new map service, based on Dutch navigation equipment and digital map maker TomTom NV's data, contained glaring geographical errors and lacked features that made Google Maps so popular.

Apple iOS 6.0.1 update now available


Apple Releases the update 6.0.1.

This update contains improvements and bug fixes, including:
Fixes a bug that prevents iPhone 5 from installing software updates wirelessly over the air
Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard
Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off
Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks
Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances
Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match
Fixes a Passcode Lock bug which sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen
Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings

iOS 5 Beta 1 Tethered Jailbreak Now Available


RedSn0w, the popular jailbreak tool by the Dev Team, has been updated with support for a tethered jailbreak on the iOS 5 developer beta. It’s been less than a week since Apple got iOS 5 Beta 1 into the hands of developers at WWDC and across the world, and a tethered jailbreak is already available.

The news was announced by Dev Team frontman, MuscleNerd, and version 0.9.8.b1 of RedSn0w is now available to download for those with access to the iOS 5 beta. To get the iOS 5 beta legally, you must have a registered developer account with Apple.(...)

iOS 4.3.2 Update

Apple released the iOS 4.3.2 on April 14 2011. Here are the details regarding the iOS 4.3.2.

The update contains improvements and other bug fixes including: 
  • Fixes an issue that occasionally caused blank or frozen video during a FaceTime call
  • Fixes an issue that prevented some international users from connecting to 3G networks on iPad Wifi + 3G
  • Conatains the latest security updates
